How to Vote for Super Representatives on TRON and Earn TRX

On this page

Stake 10,000 TRX, vote for the candidate ranked 28th, and you earn 0 TRX a year. Vote for the one ranked 17th and the same stake earns about 333 TRX. We read the commission of all 127 rewarded candidates on November 4, 2026, and 30 of them keep every reward. This guide shows how to vote for Super Representatives in each wallet, what to check before you sign, and the rules that can stop your rewards.

How to vote for Super Representatives: the short answer

To vote for a Super Representative, stake TRX to get TRON Power, assign your votes to candidates in your wallet, sign, then claim your rewards. Your TRX stays at your own address throughout.

  1. Stake TRX. Each staked TRX gives you 1 TRON Power (TP), and 1 TP is 1 vote. If you have not picked a wallet yet, compare where to stake TRX first.
  2. Open the voting page. On Tronscan, go to Governance, then Votes. In TronLink, select Vote.
  3. Allocate your votes. Choose candidates by their Voter Reward Ratio and enter the votes for each. The total cannot exceed your TP.
  4. Sign the transaction. It replaces any earlier votes in full.
  5. Claim your rewards. They build up until you claim them, and you can claim once every 24 hours.

What your vote earns

A vote earns a share of TRON's voting rewards, minus the commission your candidate keeps. Staking alone pays no TRX, and unused TRON Power earns nothing.

TRON Super Representative rewards reach voters in two streams: voting rewards from the top 127 candidates and block rewards from the top 27. The network recounts votes every 6 hours and sorts candidates into three groups:

RankRoleVoting rewardsBlock rewards
1-27Super Representative (SR)YesYes
28-127SR PartnerYesNo
128 and belowCandidateNoNo

Your share of voting rewards depends on your votes as a share of all votes for the top 127, so rank does not change it. Super Representative commission does:

0%3.07%307
5%2.92%292
10%2.76%276
20%2.46%246
100%0%0

We calculated these with TRON's published reward formula, 28,792 blocks a day and 43.81 billion top-127 votes on November 4, 2026. They assume no missed blocks and count protocol rewards only. The rate falls as more TRX is voted.

Which candidates pay the most

The highest protocol return today is about 3.33% a year, and you get within 0.33 points of it anywhere in the top 27. The bigger losses sit further down the list.

10%14
15-20%027
40-90%03

Three things follow from these numbers:

  • The biggest SR is not the best payer. Block rewards are split across fewer votes at lower ranks. At 0% commission, rank 1 pays 3.13% and rank 17 pays 3.33%, a gap of 20 TRX a year on 10,000 staked.
  • A high rank is no guarantee. Ranks 28 and 29 both keep 100%. Check the commission on every candidate you pick.
  • Quotes of 4% or 5% need an explanation. Current protocol rewards do not produce those rates. Staking Rewards listed 3.31% on November 2, 2026, close to our figure.

To check a candidate, open Governance, then Votes on Tronscan and read the Voter Reward Ratio, the share passed on to voters. A ratio of 100% means the candidate keeps nothing, and 0% means you earn nothing from that vote. The APR column is an estimate. Candidates can change their commission, and a new rate applies from the next 6-hour cycle, so recheck your picks every month or so.

Steps by wallet

Tronscan shows the most data before you sign, so use it to compare candidates even if you vote in another wallet. The labels below come from each wallet's support pages and can change between versions.

Tronscan

  1. Connect your wallet at tronscan.org.
  2. Go to Governance, then Votes. Check your available and allocated TP.
  3. Select Vote, choose your candidates and enter the votes for each. One transaction can hold up to 30 candidates.
  4. Select Vote or Confirm Vote, and sign in your wallet.
  5. Return to My Votes and confirm your allocation.
  1. Tap Vote on the home screen, then Vote on the voting page.
  2. Select your candidates and tap Next Step.
  3. Enter the votes for each, tap Vote and confirm.

The app also offers Quick Vote. Check which candidates it selects before you confirm.

  1. Click Vote on the home screen, or Vote to earn rewards right after staking.
  2. Click Vote on the voting page to start editing.
  3. Enter your votes, click Vote, then Confirm, and sign.

The voting data takes about 2 minutes to update.

Trust Wallet

Staking and voting happen in one flow. Open TRX, choose Stake, enter the amount, choose a validator and confirm. Trust Wallet's list may be shorter than Tronscan's, so look up the validator's Voter Reward Ratio on Tronscan first.

Ledger

Connect your Ledger to Tronscan, follow the Tronscan steps above, and confirm on the device. Ledger notes that Stake 2.0 balances may not appear in Ledger Wallet, so track your position on Tronscan.

Rules that can stop your rewards

Five voting rules can cut your rewards even though every transaction succeeds.

  1. Each vote replaces all earlier votes. Vote 600 and 400 for two candidates, then 1,000 for a third, and the first two get nothing from you. To keep a vote, include it again.
  2. New stake does not vote for itself. Add 5,000 TRX and you get 5,000 TP that earns nothing until you vote it. Submit your full allocation again, including the old votes.
  3. New votes start at the next cycle. A vote takes effect at the next 6-hour update. A vote you remove still earns until the current cycle ends.
  4. Unstaking takes your TRON Power back. The network takes unused TP first, then removes votes proportionally across your candidates. Our guide on how to unstake TRX covers the 14-day wait.
  5. A candidate can drop out of the top 127. Your votes stay valid, but they earn no voting rewards until the candidate returns. Rank 127 held only 23,952 votes on November 4, so candidates near the bottom can move out quickly.

How to claim and compound rewards

You can claim voting rewards once every 24 hours, and rewards you leave unclaimed keep building. Skipping a day loses nothing. To claim Tron voting rewards in TronLink, select Claim Rewards on the voting homepage. Claimed TRX lands in your available balance.

Nothing compounds on its own. To compound, claim your rewards, stake them, then vote again with your full allocation.

Doing this often adds little. At 3.33% on 10,000 TRX, compounding monthly adds about 5 TRX a year, and compounding daily adds under 1 TRX more. Each transaction uses Bandwidth, and newly staked TRX has the same 14-day unstake delay, so monthly or less often is enough for most holders.

Earn from the same stake's Energy

Votes use TRON Power and delegation uses Energy, so one stake can do both. Delegating Energy does not move your TP, and your votes keep earning.

TRON Energy that you do not use does not build up, so a holder who rarely sends USDT leaves most of it idle. TRONAgg Energy Staking pays TRX for each completed 24-hour period of delegated Energy. Its vaults listed 300 to 330 SUN per delegated TRX per day on November 4, 2026, or about 1,095 to 1,205 TRX a year on 10,000 TRX if the rate holds. Rates and capacity change, and undelegating before a period ends forfeits that period. Our guide to selling TRON Energy compares the available models.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to stake TRX before voting?

Yes. Only TRON Power counts as votes, and you get it by staking TRX at 1 TP per TRX. TRX in your available balance gives you no voting power. The minimum stake is 1 TRX. Choosing Energy or Bandwidth does not change how much TP you receive, so pick the resource you use.

Why am I not getting voting rewards?

Check your candidate first: it may keep 100% commission or sit below rank 127. Next, confirm that your TP is allocated, because new stake does not vote automatically. A new vote also waits for the next 6-hour cycle. Finally, rewards do not reach your balance until you claim them.

How many Super Representatives can I vote for?

Tronscan accepts up to 30 candidates in one vote transaction, and your total votes cannot exceed your TP. Splitting does not raise your return when commissions match. It does limit the damage if one candidate raises its commission or leaves the top 127.

When do voting rewards start?

Rewards start after the next maintenance update, which runs every 6 hours on mainnet. They then build up with each block. Expect small amounts at first: 10,000 TRX earns about 0.9 TRX a day at current rates, so a small stake can take days to show a meaningful balance.

Does voting cost TRX?

The network charges no voting fee. A vote transaction uses Bandwidth, and your 600 free daily points normally cover it. If you are short, the network burns a small amount of TRX instead. Votes have no lock, so you can change them at any time by submitting a new allocation.

Can I lose TRX by voting?

Not through the vote itself. Votes do not transfer your TRX, candidates gain no control over it, and TRON does not slash delegator stake. The real risks are the TRX price, the 14-day unstake delay and fake voting sites. Our TRON wallet security guide covers what to check before signing.

Which setup fits you

The right setup depends on why you hold the stake. This is general information, not financial advice.

  • Small stake held for Energy. Vote once for a 0% commission candidate and claim a few times a year. On 1,000 TRX, that is about 31 to 33 TRX a year for a few minutes of work.
  • Regular USDT sender. Your stake pays mainly through Energy, but voting costs almost nothing. Vote your full TP, and vote again after each top-up.
  • Long-term holder. Check commissions monthly, compound monthly, and delegate any Energy you do not use.
